Counseling Services

You don’t need to be in the middle of a massive crisis to benefit from counseling. Sometimes life simply feels off-balance, stressful, or too heavy to carry alone. Therapy gives you an uninterrupted hour to slow down, untangle what’s going on, and figure out a practical way forward.

What I Work With

I work primarily with individual adults (and select adolescents/young adults navigating major school or life transitions). Most people reach out because they are dealing with:

  • Big Transitions: Settling into a new country, starting fresh, or adjusting after a major life change.

  • Anxiety & Overwhelm: Constantly feeling on edge, overthinking everything, or running on empty.

  • Burnout & Work Stress: Exhaustion, pressure to keep performing, and having no energy left for yourself.

  • Feeling Disconnected: Missing home, struggling with self-doubt, or feeling like you lost your identity along the way.

  • Grief & Loss: Processing the end of a relationship, a loved one’s passing, or leaving behind familiar places and routines.

How It Works

I keep sessions conversational and down-to-earth. We’ll look at the root of what’s bothering you, but we’ll also focus on practical tools you can actually use between sessions.

  • Format: 50-minute individual sessions.

  • Where: Secure online video calls (or very selectively in-person in Haarlem/Amsterdam).

  • Frequency: Usually weekly or every two weeks, depending on what feels right for you.

  • Language: I am bi-lingual in English and German.

Person with brown hair and light skin holding a ceramic mug, wearing a cream-colored sweater with black stripes on the sleeves, sitting at a table with a plate of cookies, a person with a beard and black clothing reading a book, a green potted plant with heart-shaped leaves on the windowsill, and a window in the background.

Fees & Insurance

  • Individual Session: €130 per 50-minute session.

  • Initial Consultation: Free (15–20 minutes) by phone or video to see if we’re a good fit.

  • Payment: Invoices are provided after each session and can be paid via bank transfer or credit card.

Insurance Details:

I run an independent, private practice and do not bill insurance directly.

Because I practice as an uncontracted counselor, sessions are generally paid out-of-pocket and are not covered under statutory Dutch basic health insurance (basisverzekering).

However, many international expat plans (such as Cigna Global, Allianz, or Bupa) offer reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care. I provide detailed invoices if you wish to submit claims independently to your provider.
